Nordic Youth Trophy Jan 6-8, 2023, Sweden
Our team participated with 15 players in Nordic Youth Trophy in Sweden January 6-8. We were located in the small town Åmål (population 9000), and played against Manglerud-Star, Färjestad Vit, Hammarö HC, Kristinehamn HT og Åmål in a group C Friday and Saturday.
We took off from Oslo/Son already early Friday due to terrible weather conditions with loads of snow. Our team was accomodated in Åmål Orienteerings Club hut, and it was fun to sleep in one big room with all my teammates.
We had two matches Friday, and it felt strange to travel three hours to meet our neighbor in Oslo; Manglerud Star. All games were played 3 vs 3, and one half of each team met on a half rink and we met the other half team on the other half the next 15 min. The tournament was a kind of strange since there were no scoreboard and the time was running also when there were injuries or penalties. After meeting Manglerud we met Färjestad. On Saturday there were three games; and we played against Åmål, Hammarö og Kristinehamn. Sunday two new teams came over from other sites, and we played against a new Färjestad team, and a combined team from Saltsjöbaden and Hammarö.
We all think this was a great event, and we won all our matches with good margin. However, it would have been more fun with scoreboards, and qualification rounds on Friday and Saturday, and finals on Sunday.
